A Word from the Principal:

Dear Parents,

We are one week away from Thanksgiving break and I am sure many of you like me are looking forward to some time to relax, enjoy some good food and watch a little football! This time of year always provides everyone with time to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for. I am so grateful that we have been able to offer in person instruction during the pandemic for this long and we have many students thriving in our virtual environment. In addition, I cannot be more thankful for the wonderful staff here at Alpine who have demonstrated caring and perseverance and have gone above and beyond to meet the needs of our students. Last, I appreciate all our parents continued flexibility, support and grace as we navigate these interesting times and approach new challenges each week. We will not be sending out a school newsletter next week with no school the following. I wish everyone (an early) wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Your partner in education, Jason Snyder

School Fundraiser Sale Update:
Our school fundraiser has ended and we are proud to announce that we raised almost $3,000.00 for our school! These funds will be used to support classroom instruction and student needs that arise. Thank you to all those who participated. Products will be delivered 11/17. More information will be coming out shortly for those who selected curbside pick up. If you have any questions you may contact our PTO via email at khpsalpinepto@gmail.com,

We are only able to continue testing students within our buildings. If a family member would like to be tested they can be done at our school but for a fee of $165. Please follow these procedures regarding returning to school after receiving a covid test. If your student receives a positive OR negative covid-19 test, we need a copy of that doctor's note prior to your child returning to school.

Please send a copy of that note to our office via the following options:
Screenshot the doctor's note: fax or email it to us.
Email to: hblase@khps.org or mherpolsheimer@khps.org
Fax: (616) 784-1228

Please follow these procedures regarding returning to school after receiving a covid test. If your student receives a positive OR negative covid-19 test, we need a copy of that doctor's note prior to your child returning to school.

Expectations for Remote Learning when Quarantined:
If your child has to be quarantined, please know your child’s teacher will be connecting with them to provide learning expectations while home. Students will be provided reading, writing and math assignments each day with opportunities to engage with their teacher and/or class virtually at various points during their time at home. Teachers with the assistance of our office staff will gather various materials that parents may pick up as well to support learning at home (including an ipad or chromebook device).

Screener When In Quarantine:
If your child is quarantined you only need to complete the screener if they are experiencing symptoms.

VIRTUAL MUSIC CONCERT

Ms. Majchrzak has sent home virtual concert information. Classroom teachers will be sharing information pertaining to this as well. Please be sure to check your child’s backpack or connect with your child’s teacher for the details.

REDEFINED

Our Personal Mastery educational experience has redefined education and has gained attention around the state and nation. Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses. In this way, we strive to help your child reach their full potential.
